CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Mariner - Full Time - Hybrid - Overland Park, Kansas
As the creative director, you will be the visionary leader overseeing all aspects of the organization's creative output. This role requires a combination of artistic talent, strategic thinking, and strong leadership skills to inspire and guide a team of creative professionals. The successful candidate will produce compelling and innovative work that aligns with the company's brand identity and objectives. Responsibilities include conceptualizing and implementing creative strategies that uphold our brand standards and drive our business goals.
Responsibilities
Creative Strategy
Develop and implement a cohesive creative vision and strategy that reflects the organization's brand identity and resonates with target audiences across various platforms and channels
Maps out forward-looking strategy and conducts research that ensures the appropriate tools and programs are in place to scale with the needs of the organization
Team Leadership
Lead and coach a team of designers, copywriters, multi-media, content strategist and other creative professionals, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages creativity, innovation and professional growth. Includes external creative resource management as well
Creative Development
Provide clear and constructive feedback to creative team members to guide the development and refinement of visual and written content, ensuring it meets quality standards and aligns with project goals and brand guidelines
Possesses high-level responsibility of multi-media production (i.e., videos, podcasts). Strategizes concepts to fill gaps in content. Interacts with outside agencies to execute production if needed. Art directing production with internal or external resources
Evaluates and oversees department initiatives to support digital design for B2C, B2B and B2B2C efforts
Brand Management
Ensure consistency and integrity of the organization's brand identity across all creative assets, including advertising, marketing materials, packaging, digital content and more
Project Oversight
Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of creative projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in graphic design, fine arts, marketing, journalism, advertising, or a related field and/or equivalent experience
10+ years of creative direction experience within an advertising agency or in-house creative department and at least 5 years of managerial experience
Skills & Knowledge
Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to translate business objectives into creative solutions
Has a deep understanding of the Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft products and other relevant creative software and tools (i.e., Canva, social media, etc.).A passion for creativity, innovation, and continuous learning
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate ideas and concepts effectively to internal and external stakeholders
Verbally conveys ideas and concepts in meeting-type situations or brainstorming formats
Leadership qualities, including the ability to inspire and motivate a team, foster collaboration, and manage conflicts effectively
Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize and manage deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Proven experience in building ideas that move the needle for the business
