Woodruff seeks a Social Media Coordinator who has an insatiable curiosity and a work ethic to match. This social butterfly must be comfortable with all the major social media platforms – Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Threads, Pinterest, X and LinkedIn – and have experience with each in some capacity beyond personal usage (i.e., previous professional or internship experience, running social platforms for a campus organization or a nonprofit, etc.).
As part of the social media team, this person will be responsible for day-to-day tactical social media work for assigned clients under the direction of senior social team members. Additionally, they are expected to become fully familiar with the industries, products, influencers and markets in which assigned clients operate.
Outstanding candidates will possess the ability to collaborate and communicate positively across teams, a forward-thinking attitude and an enthusiasm for growing themselves and their clients. A bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, digital media or a related field, and up to two years of experience are preferred.
There is a strong preference for this person to be located in the Kansas City area. This role has the opportunity to work hybrid, but we also want someone who is able to come into the office at short notice.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Write social media posts for Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Pinterest, X, LinkedIn and other platforms
Create short-form social videos (Instagram Reels and TikToks)
Schedule posts natively and via third-party platforms
Concept, create and schedule Instagram stories
Monitor and moderate social platforms to respond to positive comments; draft responses to FAQs under supervision of senior team members; escalate issues/crises to senior team members
Obtain and organize user-generated content to repurpose on social channels
Conduct ongoing social listening or issues management tasks, such as documenting mentions on social media and key review sites
Support influencer marketing efforts, including tracking partner posts and documenting influencer requests
Support customer engagement initiatives, such as product sampling and surprise and delight programs or contests
Route requests for social media graphics and other assets as directed
Pull data from social media platforms and analytics tools as directed.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience with organic social media management on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Threads, Pinterest, X and LinkedIn

Education/Experience/Certification(s):
B.A. or B.S. in journalism, communications, English or related field
0-2 years of experience in social media marketing
Prior internship experience or demonstrated experience with social platforms beyond personal use.
