ADVANCE CAREER DAY REGISTRATION IS CLOSED

Registration opens at 8:00 am and the first session begins at 9:00 am.

Breakout sessions conclude at 3:35 pm with an optional Portfolio Review immediately following.

Registration through October 20:
» $25 for Advertising Club of Kansas City members;
» $30 for non-members;
» $15 for full-time faculty.

Registration after October 20:
» $30 for members;
» $35 for non-members;
» $20 for faculty.

There will be no advance registration after October 31. Any walk-up registration at the event will be $40 for students and $20 for faculty.

» Career Day is not a job fair but rather a day for you to hear from advertising, marketing, design, public relations, media and other related professionals about what it’s really like in our industry. You will have opportunities for interaction with these professionals but it is not necessary for you to have a resume on hand.

» Career Day check-in begins at 8:00 am on November 3 and light breakfast items will be available. The first session begins at 9:00 am. Lunch will be at 11:30 am and the keynote speaker will be Brian Brooker, CEO/Chief Creative Officer at Barkley. Breakout sessions resume after lunch and end at approximately 3:35 pm.

» There is an optional portfolio review at the end of the regular breakout sessions, beginning around 3:35 pm. If you have a creative portfolio you would like to have reviewed by a professional for feedback, please bring it with you to Career Day. You can leave your book in your car and go back for it later. If interested, please be sure to check on the line on the registration form that indicates you will participate in the portfolio review so the planning committee can have enough professionals available to meet with everyone.

» Dress for Career Day is business casual. We want you to be comfortable. Business suits are not necessary but you should be prepared to interact with and make a good impression on the professionals you might meet.

» Career Day sessions are assigned on a first come, first served basis. Submit the registration form as soon as possible.

» No refunds for cancellations will be issued after October 27, 2008. No exceptions.

The Ad Club will introduce a new speakers bureau to college students and faculty at Career Day 2008. If you or any of your advertising colleagues have an interest in visiting college classes or student groups to share your wisdom and experience, please download this FORM and return to Rachel Hack by October 15.

The Ad Club presents a Kansas City Guide to Internship Opportunities to all Career Day attendees. This guide is only updated once a year.
